Showcases the work of more than 200 Texas artists. Silent auction of art, vacation packages, jewelry, etc. Live entertainment, food, beer and wine. Raises funds for improving the near north side with affordable housing and economic opportunities while preserving the area's history and diversity.

Thu, Nov 13 The 9th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, at Toyota Center in Houston, will be broadcast live on the Univision Network from 7–10 p.m. Central Standard Time. The Awards will feature 49 categories and will be supported on radio via Univision Radio (in Spanish), and highlighted on the Internet by Univision Online. You can purchase tickets from Toyota Center, starting at $125 each.

Sat, Nov 22 Art League of Houston 60th Anniversary Gala
Tickets are $300 per person for a dazzling black-tie gala at Hotel ZaZa.  Join us on Saturday, November 22, 2008, as we dine on a sumptuous feast, bid on the finest fine art, and dance the night away.  The event kicks off with an exclusive cocktail reception at 7:00pm. The celebration will honor Texas Artist of the Year, Melissa Miller, and Texas Patrons of the Year, Ann and James Harithas.

The Dance Card - Dance Source Houston (DSH): Originally founded as the Houston Dance Initiative, Dance Source provided performance opportunities and free critical services to the community. Event@October 25, 2008: Houston Survivor Challenge

Houston Business Journal: City Tests 'Survivor' Instincts, 2008-Sep-5, by Allsion Wollam: Jolanda “Jo” Jones, current Houston City Council member and former reality series “Survivor” contestant, is bringing the jungle to Houston. Jones will host the Houston Survivor Challenge on the banks of the Buffalo Bayou on October 25. A $100 application fee will give 20 Houstonians the opportunity to compete with celebrity survivors and other reality TV stars in a day of physical and mental challenges.
